This month’s visiting teaching message focuses on parenting. My favorite quote from this month’s message comes from our prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He said, “Give your child a compliment and a hug; say, ‘I love you’ more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.”

September Visiting Teaching

When thinking about a printable, I wanted to make something applicable for everyone, whether they have children at home or not. As women in the gospel, we are often blessed with the opportunity to bless children in meaningful ways. I love the story told by Pres. Monson about a teacher’s quorum leader who used pigeons to teach him about leadership and responsibility. (You can find the story here in a downloadable document or the complete talk found here.)

I made this printable in two sizes: 8×10 and 4×6. The 8×10 version is perfect for framing and displaying. Paired with an inexpensive frame, it makes a lovely gift. The 4×6 version is so easy and inexpensive to print. You can write a quick note on the back for your sisters or drop it in the mail.

I love photoshop, naps, and chocolate. I have an etsy shop where you can see some of the things I have created when I have been eating chocolate while playing on photoshop. As for the naps, I am always hoping one is around the corner. ♥
